Ginger grown in Jiang-ma-yuan is early ginger (zingiber officinale), which is longer and thicker and it has more growth buds. The ginger is planted in rich and well draining soils with gravels. Ginger is a heavy feeder that after planting for 2 years, the soil should be laid fallow for 5 years so the soil can restore the natural nutrients. The old ginger is fragrant and spicy and it can also grow for young gingers or utilized for soup, stewing chicken with sesame oil and sautéed for the aroma. The farmers used to use ginger to rid smells, make ginger tea to enhance the immune system and prevent getting a cold. Ginger is a health-care food material to enhance the flavor and health.

“Jiang-ma” is Hakka, meaning the old ginger. The Tian Ma Ma, Lizhen PENG, grows nice old gingers and has developed a series of ginger dishes. In 2011, she was ranked the 1st place in the 10 Greatest Shen Nong(the Immortal Farmer) Award, and she said modestly, “We are farmers; because of the Tian Ma Ma program that I was able to learn cooking and business management with the teachers and have these accomplishments.” There are ginger drinks and handmade cookies in addition to the meals, the food and drinks are refreshing in summer and body warming in winter. Ginger Milk is the ginger beverage instructed by the experts: it is the ginger juice mixed with hot milk, the fragrance of the ginger and milk slowly emanates, the mildness and warmness warms up the body and mind which is the joy and happiness at an altitude of 700 meters.

Tian Ma Ma Restaurant

Yun Ye Ju Yi is located on the hillside, with the panorama view of Da Xue Mountain Range. Whenever the weather changes, the white mists due to the low temperature permeate the mountains, as if a fairyland. Visitors coming to Yun Ye Ju Yi can not only appreciate the beautiful mountain views, but also experience the Hakka hospitality from Tian Ma Ma , Lizhen PENG.

團員有幼童,外國的,怕辣的,不習慣重口味菜色,老闆特別允許我們合菜可以換菜;針對有行動不便的老人,老闆也安排出入方便的1樓座位,真的很感激,謝謝您 菜色大人小孩都吃得很滿意,份量很大吃很飽,白斬土雞、薑爆蝦、薑燒鱸魚、炒菠菜好吃;炸地瓜、客家麻薯、蘿蔔絲蛋孩子都喜歡

以這價格來看份量太少,尤其薑薑雞幾乎都骨頭,另外每道菜上菜時間間隔約15分鐘,很久

2021/3/1午餐拜訪。菜色味道口味很不錯,薑薑雞份量很大,薑薑蝦味道很不錯。餐後點了桑椹冰沙也好喝。環境是很放鬆的地方。適合放假來散散心放空吃飯的好所在。
